Wetaskiwin Co-op is recruiting for the full-time position of Senior Estimator at our busy Home and Building Center, located at 4707 40 Ave in Wetaskiwin, Alberta. In this role, you will provide exceptional customer service while assisting customers with estimates, consultations, and guidance on residential and building projects. You will interpret project documentation, specifications, and design drawings to determine material requirements and pricing for building materials and manufactured components, helping drive sales within our Home and Building Centre.

What you’ll do:
Reporting to the Home and Building Solutions Manager, the Estimator is a highly motivated and customer-oriented individual who has strong attention to detail. Duties will include but are not limited to:
• Ensure the quality and condition of all merchandise meets store standards. Alert for unauthorized removal of merchandise and equipment.
• Responsible for building strong customer relationships with and delivering solutions to; contractors, material vendors, trades, local home builder/contractor association(s), and staying abreast of industry trends.
• Responsible for actively making on-site visits to meet customer needs/expectations. Provide information, assistance, and exceptional customer service.
• Work collaboratively with the Home & Building Centre team to meet or exceed Wetaskiwin Co-op Brand standards.
• Read and interpret construction plans, blueprints, or computer aided drawings and provide estimates, outlining the overall building material requirements.
• Support tendering processes; providing quantities, costing, and information associated to the overall building project.
• Ensure a clean, organized, and well-stocked sales floor.
• Assist with merchandise displays and promotions.
• Maintain safe and efficient operations while adhering to policies, procedures, and standards.

Who you are:
You are looking for a career in the Retail industry and:
• You have minimum three to five years experience in estimating with demonstrated responsibility for complex estimates/projects.
• Experience in Hardware, Retail, Construction and Building Products Sales is considered an asset. Preference will be given to candidates directly involved in building homes.
• You quickly prioritize individual responsibilities and effectively manage time under deadlines.
• You believe in building relationships and collaborating to deliver solutions that matter most, and you recognize the value that different perspectives bring to meet shared objectives.
• You’re honest and trustworthy, are results-oriented and strive to be the best in what you do.
