Heavy Duty Mechanic - Country Junction Feeds

Wetaskiwin Co-op is now accepting applications for the full-time permanent position of Heavy Duty Mechanic at our busy Truck Shop, located at 4707 40th Ave in Wetaskiwin, Alberta.

Wetaskiwin Co-op is located in central Alberta operating in 9 locations in 5 communities of Wetaskiwin, Innisfail, Camrose, Edmonton and Falun. We operate in a variety of product lines including consumer hardware, building products, crop inputs, petroleum, liquor and feed manufacturing. Areas of responsibility:
• Working with the Mechanics and Maintenance team members on a variety of day-to-day tasks.
• Inspect trucks and trailers and run diagnostic tests to discover functionality issues.
• Effectively troubleshoot and perform repairs needed.
• Perform routine and preventative maintenance on the vehicles and equipment in the fleet.
• Perform basic auto care and maintenance tasks such as oil changes, fluid level checks, tire installation and rotation.
• Accurately document work performed and part usage.
• Regularly bending and twisting lifting up to 55 pounds.
• Participate in an On-Call rotating shift.
• Ensures all applicable company policies and procedures are adhered to and ensure all safety and regulatory requirements and procedures are maintained, notifying management of any safety concerns.

Who you are:
You are looking for a career in Production, Trades and Maintenance and:
• You are a Heavy Duty Mechanic; Journeyman and Apprentices are all welcomed to apply.
• You carry a valid Class 5 Driver’s License. Class 3A Driver’s Licence, Class 1 Driver’s Licence, and CVIP Licence are considered an asset.
• You have a mechanical aptitude and excellent communication skills.
• You have the ability to work in a shop environment with minimal supervision.
• You have a minimum of two years of related experience (a combination of relevant education and experience may be considered).
• You believe in building relationships and collaborating to deliver solutions that matter most, and you recognize the value that different perspectives bring to meet shared objectives.
• You’re honest and trustworthy, are results-oriented and strive to be the best in what you do.
