Ruminant Feed Sales Representative- Country Junction Feeds
Wetaskiwin Co-op and Country Junction Feeds is now accepting applications for the permanent full-time position of Ruminant Feed Sales Representative. Reporting to the Beef Team Leader, this role will add sales and nutrition capacity to drive growth, as well as supporting a variety of departments, locations, and initiatives.

Wetaskiwin Co-op is located in central Alberta operating in 9 locations in 5 communities of Wetaskiwin, Innisfail, Camrose, Edmonton and Falun. We operate in a variety of product lines including consumer hardware, building products, crop inputs, petroleum, liquor and feed manufacturing. Areas of responsibility:
• Build and maintain strong relationships with both existing and new customers, serving as a trusted partner and resource for all their nutritional and feed-related needs, within the established territory.
• Required to travel to make on-farm sales calls, work independently and meet or exceed agreed budget targets.
• Participate in conferences, seminars, and trade shows to network with industry experts, learn about new products and technologies, and gain insights into market trends.
• Collaborate effectively with our Nutrition team and other industry professionals as required to identify customer needs and develop nutritional programs to address those needs.
• Conduct on-farm consultations and sales calls, supported by Nutrition as required, to evaluate herd performance, nutritional deficiencies, and economic comparisons of different rations.
• Work closely with production and logistic to ensure we deliver a premium customer service.
• Regularly read agricultural trade journals, online publications, and industry reports to stay informed about emerging trends in ruminant nutrition, feed technology, and livestock management.
Who you are:
• You have a minimum of three (3) years experience in feed sales, ruminant nutrition and production or related field, with a proven track record of delivering results. Applicable applied experience will be considered.
• Strong understanding of livestock production systems including feeding and forage quality, herd management, herd performance metrics and a thorough understanding of the local industry.
• You have experience in a customer service environment with proven positive customer interactions.
• Ability to balance on-farm rations and develop feeding programs considered an asset.
• You believe in teamwork, building relationships and value the perspectives of colleagues, suppliers and customers.
• Excellent oral and written communications skills, with the ability to effectively convey information to producers and diverse audiences.
• Ability to organize and effectively prioritize tasks respectful of deadlines, with an ability to work under pressure and work with integrity.
• Bachelor’s degree in Animal Science, Food Science, Microbiology, Agriculture or a related field is considered an asset.
